Heaven's Cent

I work my hands down to the bone
For a Boss I'll never know
Until He takes my tired hands
To His Kingdom Come

Every Thursday I get paid
For my job not for my faith
The CEO of life
Bounces all my checks

I'm seeing others get their dues
So I know Your word is truth
I've been patient for my time, my miles and what's been coming to me
I'm only asking for one cent
A shiny Heaven's cent
So won't You send her down to me

As I'm about to give my two weeks
I find a penny with angelic sheen
In the Garden of Eden
She's Heaven's finest rose

I've worn the skin off of my knees
Giving thanks for the mercy
My voice has gone dry
From this praying song

Now You've given me my dues
So I know Your word is truth
I'd been patient for my time, my miles and what's been given to me
I only asked You for one cent
A shiny Heaven's cent
So You sent her down to me

It's been so long
It's been so long
She's Heaven's Cent to me

She's Heaven's Cent
Heaven's Cent
She's Heaven's Cent sent down to me

Her Name

Her name belongs in the words of a song
I've tried to write for so damn long
Here I sit again with my guitar and pen
I can't find the words that she deserves

I try to trace the stunning features of her face
With words her beauty can embrace
There's no couplet, verse or stanza that could work
I can't find a rhyme for her design

I sing her name
There's no worthy word that rhymes
No beat to keep her time
I sing her name
The melody takes me away

I make a melody exciting new and true
As how i feel when I see you
There's not chord progression to reflect the obsession
That mind has developed around you

I sing her name
There's no worthy word that rhymes
No beat to keep her time
I sing her name
The melody takes me away

If I could only explain
What I've been trying to say
I'd gather up the words in a song with her name
I would sing it to she
Who leaves my voice without speech
And call out her name

I sing her name
There's no worthy word that rhymes
No beat to keep her time
I sing her name
The melody takes me away

Forsaken

Every time he lies awake
He sings this lullaby
In hopes that sleep will come to him
And he will meet her eye

The time weighs heavy on his eyes
He drifts into a sleep
She comes to him within a dream
And asks what he does see

Everyone is spoken for
All the hearts are won
Of all that have forsaken me
I hope that you're the one

The morning sun wakes him gently
He answers to the day
He sees the face from slumber's place
And asks what she does say

Everyone is spoken for
All the hearts are won
Of all that have forsaken me
I hope that you're the one

Everyone is spoken for
All the hearts are won
Of all that have forsaken me
I know that you're the one

Who is Mr. Cam DeBarcho?

He is yesterday
He is the old way

He is our mentor
He is our muse

He is what makes us
He is our trust

He is our mistakes
He is what we take

He is our history
He is belief

Pages turn as he does learn
A scribe of time and our concern

The man inside the diary
That man was always me
